inZOI and PUBG will soon have AI-enhanced Co-Playable Characters that can dynamically play with you
CES 2025 has unveiled groundbreaking advancements in mobile gaming, with one of the most significant being the AI-powered "Co-Playable Character" (CPC). This innovative concept, revealed by Krafton (PUBG's developer) on January 8th, introduces Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) infused with generative AI. This technology is set to revolutionize both PUBG and inZOI.
inZOI's implementation, dubbed "Smart Zoi," will introduce NPCs with distinct personalities and emotional depth, creating a more immersive and lifelike simulation experience. For PUBG, the "PUBG Ally" will dynamically adapt its strategies to enhance player interactions, offering a potentially exciting (or perhaps slightly unsettling) new gameplay dynamic.
Developed in partnership with NVIDIA ACE, this technology enables real-time conversations and scenarios that adapt to the game's unfolding events. Kangwook Lee, Head of Krafton's Deep Learning Division, stated, *"Our collaboration with NVIDIA is a testament to the transformative potential of AI in gaming, and we plan to work closely together to push the boundaries of what is possible."*
